Did you know that I have a couple of friends who I have been friends with since I was in elementary school? We have grown up together, been in each other's weddings, and now share funny stories about our own children when we get together! It is so important to remember that in order to have good friends; you have to be a good friend. The most special friends are the ones who you may have a disagreement with or not talk to for a little while, but when you finally reconnect everything seems just like it was before. My dad has always told me that if I have 5 good friends by the end of my life then I will have been lucky. I never really understood that until I got a little older. He just means that being a good friend isn't always easy. You have to really think about someone else's feelings and how your decisions may affect them. I would love to hear about some of your special friends. Do you think that you may still be friends with them when you grow up? Please share with me what makes them so special to you. Mrs. Cox has many BFFs. She's a really great friend of mine! I love how she's so helpful. She is always willing to listen when I come to her with something!

ReplyDeleteI like what Mrs. Leon said about friends. I have some friends that are like that. I don't have to talk to them everyday for them to be my friend, but we know that we are always there for each other.
Sometimes, friends can be closer to you than your family members. A wise man once said that you can tell the character of a person by the company he keeps. This means that people can tell what kind of person you are by the people you hang out with. So make sure you surround yourself with good people and good friends!
Friends are fantastic! Hold them close, kids...you will surely need them and they will need you! :)
